As part of a large‑scale global transformation, a world‑leading FMCG company has partnered with Infosys to redesign and elevate its Global Business Services (GBS) to world‑class standards. To support this journey, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operation Analyst – Logistics & Transportation to join the Greenfield GBS team in Bucharest. This role will be is responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence and delivery of Logistics & Transportation activities across the EU region.
This role acts as a key link between global logistics standards and regional execution, ensuring that the Third-Party Service Provider (3PSP) executes transportation planning, shipment execution, and distribution activities with accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
The role focuses on “running the logistics engine”—supporting carrier operations, managing transport execution, and resolving distribution challenges to ensure optimal service levels and cost efficiency across EU markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operational Oversight & Vendor Management
- 3PSP Coordination: Act as the primary coordination and escalation point for logistics service providers (3PLs/transport vendors), ensuring delivery against agreed SLAs.
- Execution Governance: Monitor the quality and accuracy of transaction execution (shipment planning, dispatch, freight booking) in systems (e.g., SAP TM, S/4HANA).
- Service Delivery: Ensure timely execution of transport planning cycles, shipment scheduling, and delivery confirmations.
2. Regional Performance & Execution- KPI Accountability: Own and track performance of key Logistics & Transportation KPIs for EU, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), On-Time In-Full (OTIF), Freight Cost per Unit / Shipment, Transport Utilization & Load Efficiency, Lead Time Adherence.
- Operational Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PSPs and stakeholders to address service gaps.
- Exception Management: Identify and resolve issues such as delivery delays, capacity constraints, shipment failures, and route inefficiencies.
3. Process Localization & Compliance- Standardization Adherence: Ensure all EU logistics operations follow global L&T process standards and minimize local deviations.
- Documentation & Knowledge: Maintain SOPs, transport playbooks, and ensure vendor documentation is current and accurate.
- Audit & Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
4. Technology & Tactical Enablement- Support shipment planning, carrier allocation, and route optimization activities.
- Validate transport plans to ensure alignment with delivery priorities and cost targets.
- Monitor execution of inbound and outbound deliveries across markets.
- Coordinate with warehouses, distribution centers, and carriers to ensure smooth flow of goods.
5. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment- System Utilization: Ensure effective use of logistics systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP TM, or equivalent TMS platforms.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support testing and validation of system enhancements or rollouts.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accuracy of logistics master data (transport lanes, transit times, carrier data, freight rates).
6. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement- Regional Bridge: Act as liaison between Logistics, Warehousing, Customer Service, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Collaboration: Work with customer service and supply chain teams to manage delivery commitments and resolve service issues.
- Conflict Resolution: Balance trade-offs between service levels, transportation costs, and operational constraints.
7. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement- Identify root causes of logistics inefficiencies (delays, cost overruns, capacity constraints);
- Drive corrective actions with 3PSPs and internal stakeholders;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including route optimization, cost reduction, and automation opportunities.
Required Experiences & Qualifications - University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field;
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution operations;
- Significant track record managing 3PSPs or BPO partners in a high-volume, keystroke-level environment;
- Hands-on experience with ERP/TMS systems (SAP S/4HANA, SAP TM, or similar);
- Experience navigating the diverse market landscape of EU and managing stakeholders across different time zones and languages;
- Experience in EU logistics operations is an advantage.
